PRIVATE COUNCIL INFORMATION

Freddy Beard - Chair  ... has been shooting “stills” since 1948, films since 1994 - but  not a film-maker. Contributes to several committees – someone has to do it!  I know many in the film-making communities via BIAFF, IAC AGMs, UNICA and local festivals.

Brenda Troughton - Secretary ... ran the resource department of a special needs educational establishment where she made films for both the students and college. In 2004 she joined Spring Park Film Makers and is currently the club secretary and programme organiser.

Ian Wingate FACI - Treasurer, Involved in film making from 18, started with 8mm and a Kodak Brownie (which he still has), then super 8, and now video. Active member of SERIAC Council for many years, the other half of Marina films and avid cinema goer.

Reg Lancaster FACI  Current IAC President, former Chairman of SERIAC Council (joined in 1978) and member of Orpington Video & Film Makers. As well as making films, is a festival jury member to international level.  A Daily Express photographer for 45 years.

Ron Prosser FACI  IAC Chairman.  Film has been a passion for Ron  since childhood when he gave film shows to his family on a hand wound projector.   He progressed eventually from film to digital video where his interests lay in the story film.

Gwen Whippy LACI - was presenter & script writer with BBC local radio for 20 years. Since joining SERIAC she has been Secretary for seven years and is now the joint Competition Officer.  Gwen is a film festival adjudicator and film maker and is involved with amateur dramatics.

 

Alan Whippy LACI  is an ex industrial photographer and started video over 20 years ago. Ex Chairman of SERIAC Council, he is a film maker, editor, film festival adjudicator and has been in amateur theatre for many year.  Alan is now joint Competition Officer.

Keith Sayers - Seriac News Editor

Keith started movie making on standard 8 in the 60s. He progressed to Super 8 on its inception and then miniDV (skipped VHS). He shoots documentaries alone or stories with his group Marina Films. Keith’s career is in electronics.

 

Rita Hayes FACI  has have been Chair of Shooters Hill Camcorder Club for many years. She took  over as Chair of SERIAC Council in 2000 and served for 3 years .Her  favourite aspects of film making  are films cut to music and comedies.

 

Pip Hayes is the longest serving member of Shooters Hill Camcorder Club, joining in the mid 70s.  He enjoys making short comedies but appreciates all aspects of our hobby. Pip’s professional film hero is Mack Sennett.

 

Terence Patrick FACI has been making and producing movies with the Guildford-based film group Circle Eight since 1964.   He joined the IAC in 1971 and currently serves on SERIAC Council and the National Council of the IAC.

 

Charlie Caseley has been involved with the amateur film making movement since the late fifties. He served as chairman of SERIAC and competition officer for the Kent Film Festival.

 

Peter Hughes  bought an 8mm cine camera in 1972 and changed to video in 1990. A  founder member of the Kent Film Festival. Now treasurer and webmaster for Medway Film Makers. While at work, Peter was involved with making very innovative corporate conference videos
